Verbal Brush Fires

If disagreements occur among children, we do not intervene immediately: we watch and listen. We give them time to solve small disagreements on their own. However, if a disagreement escalates, we step in and use “solution-finding strategies.” We ask each child to explain what happened. We remind them to listen without interrupting, and we ask them for solution ideas until they agree on one. Children improve their ability to interact with friends and get along with others.
